National Poetry Month Contest: Day 19 – Wind

Today’s theme is “Wind.”

The wind usually speaks in whispers. But one day, it howled and blew the wind chimes he’d once given me so hard they woke me. As I often do when I wake, I retrieved my phone from my nightstand to read my messages.

An email from his sister told me he was gone.

The theme for tomorrow is “home.” What will you write?

To enter for a chance to win a copy of my book, Life: Haiku by Haiku, leave a comment with your original haiku (must use the Theme of the Day). Each haiku will qualify for one entry, so enter as many times as you’d like! (NOTE: Shipping address of winners must be within the United States.)
