National Poetry Month Day 28: Besame Mucho

A couple of days ago, while at the pond, I sat on a rock to watch this Mama duck and her chicks. I’d been listening to music while I walked, and Besame Mucho by Andrea Bocelli began to play.

My mother used to sing Besame Mucho (Kiss Me Much) quite often.  I remember watching her and wishing I could sing as beautifully as she did.

Today is her birthday, and although the haiku may not make sense to most people, it’s personal to me it felt appropriate to post it today.

Happy birthday, Mom. I love you and miss you.
